  K wara state now join oil producing state in Nigeria, when crude oil was discovered in Aran Orin in Irepodun Local Government of Kwara state. According to report filled by Abiodun Fagbemi of the Guardian news on Monday,August15,2011. This good news was announced at Ilorin when Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed receiving the management of the National MIRROR newspaper at the Government house in Ilorin. We learnt that Governor Ahmed said, the oil was discovered by a farmer who saw the crude oil spouting out from the soil in his farm. He added that seven other sites were also discovered. Our crew also learnt that Geologist from the state ministry of industry and solid minerals and independent analysis by private company confirmed that substance is blend as Bonny light, which is one of the best crude oil that is highly demand by foreign countries like Europe and America refineries. Inner city road on course in lagos state - Fashola

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on Tuesday stated that plans for the inner city roads in the state is on course, stating that the big challenge is however funding to continue to keep the contractors at work and expand the scope of work that they are doing. Governor Fashola spoke with State House Correspondents at Lagos House, Ikeja who wanted to know why he has decided to conduct on the spot assessment of inner city roads after he embarked on an inspection of Akerele Street in Surulere. The Governor added that it is the State Government that is working on the roads and there is a need to keep track and focus on the election promises which featured prominently inner city roads. “I am just doing spot inspections to see that progress is on course and that we can finish them depending on the capacity and speed of the contractor and also depending on the big challenge which is funding. Beyond any doubt,i am sure the Governor of lagos state meant what he promises and ready to complete all the project he has started. Precisely come 28th may, 2011, he will still be sworn in as re-elected Governor.
